WORTHING HERALD & SPLASH FM PUB OF THE YEAR 2010

PROBABLY THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY, TRADITIONAL PUB IN WORTHING The George and Dragon, affectionately known as the G&D, is a traditional village pub. Its original name was the White Horse. It is used extensively by locals but still has quite a lot of passing trade. There are four rooms on split levels and at the lounge end there is a roaring fire (albeit powered by gas) very cosy in the colder months. For the warmer months of the year there is a garden and patio area at the back with tables and chairs and a covered smoking area. The interior features low beamed ceilings; the bar is dominated by a large backlit wooden-veneered Watneys sign, a throwback to the 1960s. Tankards hang from the ceilings and there are numerous dart trophies on show.
